Bangalore Bengaluru International Airport (BLR)
Travel and Ground Transport
(Bangalore, India)
Apart from taking a taxi, you can get to the city of Bangalore and its hotels by bus. Local buses offer the cheapest option for getting around Bangalore.
Alternatively, Bangalore is well linked with many major Indian cities and towns by railway. However, journeys to northern Indian cities are long.
Buses
Presently, Bangalore's major mode of transport is its fleet of buses operated by Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation Ltd. (BMTC). The interstate bus terminus of Bangalore can be found in Subashnagar, near Majestic Circle. Many private roadways link Bangalore with all the important centres in the area. However, bus services do not operate directly between the airport and the city.
Hotel Shuttles
There are numerous good hotels situated in the surroundings of Bangalore International Airport and a reasonable amount of these hotels operate transfer services between their establishment and the airport. The KSTDC counter in Terminal II provides reservation services for 38 hotels in Bangalore, with discounts wherever possible.
Taxi Cabs
Passengers arriving at Arrivals Domestic or Arrivals International can book a taxi from the KSTDC pre-paid taxi counter. The counter is open around the clock. The KSTDC desk is situated in Terminal II. KSTDC staff provide point to point taxi services for destinations in Bangalore city. Vehicles which can carry more than four passengers are available. Travelling by taxi is the fastest option for getting to hotels and downtown Bangalore. We recommend that you use government-run (KSTDC) taxis for a hassle-free service and clean cars.
Limousines
No western-style limousines serve Bangalore International Airport (BLR). If you want a Mercedes to bring you to and from the airport, you'll have to make prior arrangements through your hotel or travel agency.
